Working on that Personal Strategic Plan

In an article I wrote earlier this week I talked about how to formulate your Personal Strategic Plan. Within that article I outlined how we as a society concentrate on people’s weaknesses rather than emphasizing their strengths. As we look to formulate that Strategic Pan we need to understand what the Keys to Peak Performance are and how they affect us.

We have all heard the saying “You are what you eat”. An important discovery about human performance is You are what you think about, most of the time.

Your external world is a reflection of your internal world. The way you think and feel determines your attitudes, your expectations, YOUR VALUES and your behaviors. As you grow to understand why you think and feel the way you do you will then have the ability to start to change. This is the first step towards developing that Positive Strategic Plan.

The first part of that Personal Strategic Plan was develop a list of YOUR attitudes and values. Those attitudes and values are determined by your expectations, which are based upon your beliefs about reality. Related to this is your self-concept. Your self-concept is a mass of feelings, convictions, ideas and everything you have come to know as true throughout your life. Your self-concept is like the master program in your computer. Your self-concept will precede and predict your levels of effectiveness and performance in everything you do.

As it relates to income. You will always earn within about 10% of your self-concept level of income. Want to earn more start to work on your self-concept look at your values and attitudes, choose to keep everything positive. Work on that Positive Strategic Plan. Plan for Success. Visualize what success looks like, think about what you want from a career, or a business. See it, write it down, plan for it, execute it.
